Scope of Work 

Global Testing Services were engaged to carry out engineering support, procurement and supply of equipment, inspection, testing, commissioning and handover for the design of a digitally enhanced protection scheme for two 66kV transmission lines which run from Alinta Energy’s PHPS switchyard to Horizon Power’s Wedgefield and Murdoch Drive substations.

Project Challenges 

A number of challenges were encountered with the works on this project. These ranged from an extremely tight time frame, to delays with access, design issues and fractious relationships between the client and the network operator. Also, this period proved to be very busy for GTS so there were internal pressures around resources. None of these challenges delayed the project with final commissioning being completed on time.
